An illustrated compendium of all things “Kangaroo” is STILL in the works. A tremendous response and cooperation from the veterans and surviving families has meant a significant increase in the scope and content of the intended book. A lot of previously unknown documents, diaries and photos have come to light in the last few years and has added greatly to understanding the story of this unique regiment. Work progresses slowly but surely...
As with any “illustrated” book I would like to gather as many regimental images as possible. Since most of the history of the 1CACR remains in private hands, both veterans and militaria collectors, I would encourage those individuals with items of interest to consider contributing photos or similar copies of their material to our project. Please contact me for details!
Of course I ALWAYS like to hear from veterans and their families as they are at the heart of this project and their stories are important to putting back the pieces of the “Kangaroo” puzzle. So much of their story has remained untold and potentially lost forever. I would like to be able to include as many veteran stories and recollections as possible. Please contact me if you know the whereabouts of any “Kangaroos” or their relatives.
